Living the Dream – Phase One
I thought blogging about this journey would be a good way to document it and show that even though transition can be challenging it is so worth it if the result is living a balanced and joyful life! So here we go….
Practice, Practice, Practice
I always tell my students when they get frustrated or discouraged that if it was easy everyone would do it! I had to remind myself that today as well. I also tell them to practice, practice, practice… and so I shall!
Installing an Art Exhibition
With the help of my husband and good friends Phil and Kat Potter I installed my 2022 art exhibition titled Perception.
Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry 2.0
My mom gave me a wok as an Easter basket when I was in college and this recipe followed… it’s a family favorite. Thirty years later, I still use the wok.

Philly Cheesesteak Pizza
We had Ribeye steak for Christmas dinner, and I had leftovers and thought a steak pizza was in order.
New England Clam Chowder with Sourdough Croutons
As we move toward spring in Colorado, our snow days start to increase (March and April are the snowiest months in our great state.) Soup is the perfect meal for a cold snowy day, couple that with it being Friday and Lent (no meat for us Catholics on Fridays).
Bucket List

Throwing On The Wheel
time to learn how to use the wheel and throw clay on said wheel. These new skills will eventually expand my abilities to make functional ceramic ware in bulk at a more rapid pace.
Creating a Schedule
When creating a ‘life’ map which is what I call this calendar, I include all the things that require time. Writing it out helps me ensure that I am managing my time and making room for the things that are important to me such as studio time.
Making Container Candles
Happy New Year! Over break I enjoyed some needed downtime which finally gave me the opportunity to work on my candle making skills.
Creating a Lithograph
I first learned printmaking while in graduate school at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. I experimented with several different printing processes but the one I focused the most on was call Paper Plate Lithography.
