French Onion Soup
I share with you one of my favorite recipes that is over 40 years old! Still delicious after all these years!
Tomato, Pesto and Feta Cheese Salad
As we are nearing the end of the growing season, my heirloom tomatoes are finally taking off and, albeit late, I’m starting to get a bumper crop! For this recipe I’ve used the Orange Accordion (seen photo), Black Beauty as well as Black Strawberry. I should also add that this is a Palisade Posh original recipe!
Linguine with Creamy Pumpkin Sauce and Roasted Pumpkin
With our fall squash and cooking pumpkins being harvested, I’ve been experimenting with our produce and trying to come up with new recipes.
Roasted Honeynut Squash Linguine with Almond and Brown Butter Sauce
This is an original Palisade Posh recipe inspired by the produce we grow in the Posh Market Garden.
First Farm to Table Dinner
This was the first of what I hope to be many more Farm to Table dinners we host here on the farm!
Good Green Olives with Almonds, Honey & Rosemary
This recipe was the first one I tried out from Erin French’s cookbook Big Heart Little Stove: Bring Home Meals & Moments from The Lost Kitchen. It has not disappointed and proved to be a big crowd pleaser when I’m hosting guests or just creating a little ‘nibble’ board for Andy and myself.
Peach Caprese Salad
As Palisade peach season starts to wind down, I’ve been making things with our amazingly delicious peaches as often as I can! ! One of my favorite go to recipe’s come from my Joanna Gaines cookbook, Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gatherings.
How to Freeze Okra
One of my favorite soups to make is Gumbo. With its subtle hint of spiciness combined with chicken, kielbasa, and shrimp over rice and a slice of crusty artisan bread with a velvety Merlot it’s the perfect cold weather dish!
EASY LEMON CUCUMBER SALAD
I’ve been researching and trying out new recipes that are specific to the produce I’m growing in the Posh Market Garden. This lemon cucumber recipe is one that I tried out recently and it is AMAZING.
Brats in Puff Pastry
This recipe is an adaptation for a recipe I found in my new cookbook by Ina Garten called Go-to Dinners (ISBN 978-1-9848-2278-9), Andy gave me the cookbook for Christmas this year.
David’s Amazing Pecan Coffee Cake
The real name of this delicious breakfast treat is called Sour Cream Coffee Cake and it comes from the Cooks Illustrated cookbook.
Parmesan and Thyme Crackers
This recipe comes from the Barefoot Contessa: Back to Basics cookbook by Ina Garten. The Barefoot Contessa is one of my favorite cooking shows and Ina Garten one of my favorite cookbook authors!
Apple Cinnamon Scones
Recently our neighbors invited us over to pick however many apples we wanted from their apple tree. So, Andy went over and gathered a basket full of apples. I’m not much of a baker but when you have fresh produce how can you not put on the apron and do some baking?
Saturday Morning Breakfast
I recently enjoyed a lovely Saturday morning breakfast made by my husband. It was so tasty and beautifully presented, I thought I’d take a break from reporting on the farm and share this delightful recipe with you!
Retire… Who Me?
Originally my plan was to retire from teaching when we moved to Palisade… but I ended up taking a job as an adjuct art professor at CMU!
The Path to Property Ownership: We have a Closing Date!
We put an offer on the property on D road contingent on the subdivision of the property. Our offer was accepted, and the subdivision process started, and what a slow process it was!
Pesto Ravioli with Sundried Tomatoes
So, until then, here is another wonderful new recipe I found in my Better Homes and Gardens magazine titled “Pizza and Pasta”. It is super easy to make, and it doesn’t require the oven which is awesome on these 100-degree days!
Spinach-Pancetta Stuffed Pasta Shells
I’m always looking for new recipes often from cooking magazines I pick up at the grocery store. This recipe comes from the summer 2023 Better Homes & Gardens magazine titled Pizza & Pasta, page 57.
Ranch and Pancetta Pizza
One of my favorite dishes to make is pizza. Once we are settled in Palisade, on the list of things to create is a proper outdoor living space that will have a woodfired pizza oven.
