Palisade Fun: Pêche
Although Palisade has a lot of wonderful wineries and is being dubbed by the press as the next Sonoma, they don’t have a lot of restaurants or perhaps I should say good restaurants. There actually might be more tasty and culinary creative food trunks that are often spotted at the wineries or other locations like the Spoke and Vine Motel than there are quality sit down restaurants. However, Peche Restaurant is one of the shining star restaurants in Palisade that offers wonderful culinary delights!
If you are looking for an upscale dining experience that is both welcoming and tasty to the palette, Peche is your go to place in Palisade. Andy and I had the pleasure of eating there with our friends Laurie and David this past spring and it was a wonderful experience for sure. The wait staff were both friendly and knowledgeable and the service impeccable. From what I’ve read on their website regarding how they take care of their staff this focus comes across in the positive outlook and quality customer service. The atmosphere is contemporary in design, with a positive vibe that is both lively and customer friendly.
Matthew Chasseur, who I’ve not met, is both the chef and owner along with his wife Ashley Fees Chasseur who is the general manager of Peche. You can tell by reading his biography that his passion and love for cooking food comes through in the meals he prepares. The food, which you can watch being prepared from your table (or at least I could from my table) is both tasty and beautifully presented. They locally source their produce from the grand valley including places such as the Blaine’s Farm and Tomatoes, Ghost Rock Farms, Farm Runners, Pea and Posy. Distefano Orchards, Day Spring Eggs, and Pear Blossom Farms to name only a few.
Now I’m not a food writer so I can’t describe in detail what we had, because well I can’t remember exactly what the dishes were called but I did take several pictures of which I’m sharing with you in this blog post. Each dish was incredible regarding taste and visually beautiful thus earning the name of Culinary Art! Peche also carries Colorado wines from wineries such as Restoration and Mesa Park as well as wines from other states such as California as well as overseas. In addition, they serve cocktails and beers.
Reservations are highly recommended! When we were there the restaurant was packed with no spare tables in site. To make reservation you can go to pecherestaurantcolorado@gmail.com, call 970-464-4911 or stop by at 336 Main Street, Palisade, Colorado between the hours of 5-9 pm Tuesday – Saturday. I will say the prices are a little on the higher end but well worth it!
Bon Appetite!
