Eighteen Minutes Away: Maison La Belle Vie Winery

Recently, Andy and I enjoyed a date night at Maison La Belle Vie. It was an early Valentine’s Day celebration that included a four-course meal and wine pairing. It was lovely! I blogged about Maison’s Friday Night Burger Night in a much earlier post, but this dining experience was a lot different. As amazing as their burgers are, I have to say the new owners of this well-respected winery have up Maison’s game when it comes to food!

The winery is located eighteen minutes or 9.2 miles away from our property via the Fruit and Wine byway. We have enjoyed their wines, burgers, and charcuterie boards over the years. We were even wine club members for a time and are contemplating rejoining after our fabulous date night! If you are contemplating a visit to the Valley, Maison La Belle Vie should be on your list of places to visit. They offer a variety of wine both dry and sweet, tasting via wine flights and now have both indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is especially lovely in the summer months and indoor seating is equally convenient in the winter months!

Our Valentine’s dinner Started off with Hors D’oeuvres of tomato bruschetta on toasted crostini paired with a beautiful Chardonnay. This was followed by a tomato burrata salad and a White wine blend.

For the main course we each had beef tenderloin that melted in your mouth, with a mushroom cream sauce, roasted marble potatoes and asparagus, this was paired with a bold and velvety Cabernet Sauvignon.

I’m not usually a dessert kind of gal, but as they say when in Rome… or in this case on a date night… Dessert included strawberry shortcake and a glass of Muscat white wine. Other than port, I’m not a fan of sweet wine and Muscat is definitely on the sweet side! It also happens to be one of my mother’s favorite wines to drink. That said, this pairing was perfect! The richness of the strawberry shortcake countered the sweetness of the wine and together they made for an amazing end to this beautiful four course meal!

Although Valentine’s day has come and gone, I’ve included information on Maison La Belle Vie Winery and Eatery & Amy’s Courtyard which is their outdoor space. They are located at 3575 G Road, Palisade, CO 81526. Their website is www.maisonlabellevie.com . Monday, Tuesday and Thursday they open at 12:00 and closed at 6:00 pm. Friday, Saturday and Sunday they open at 11:00 am and the tasting room closes at 6:00 pm. Dinner on Fridays and Saturdays is served from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. They are closed on Wednesdays. Depending on the season, I’d recommend calling ahead, 970-464-4959, to confirm these times. The staff at Maison are incredibly nice… If you go and Melissa is working the tasting room or happens to be your server, tell her Kim sent you!

Enjoy their wine and Bon Appetit!
