The Face of Palisade Posh
Kim Putnam, the mid-century modern woman behind Palisade Posh
To quote Jean Valjean from Les Misérables, Who Am I? I am a mid-century modern woman (which is code for middle age but mid-century sounds cooler), who periodically likes to reinvent herself, usually when I’m ready to start a new chapter of my life. I am currently in reinvention mode and on the verge of starting a new life path. This path includes changing directions in my art making process, starting a new business, first with the Palisade Posh online boutique, followed by a relocation to the Western Slope, more specifically Palisade Colorado. Once there the plan is to open an Airbnb, renovate a house and barn for a new and larger art studio and establish a small farm that features a flower cutting garden, veg patch, small orchard with various fruit and nut trees and rounded out with a few chickens. Ideally, I’d also like to have a peacock on the property, crazy I know but wouldn’t that be so cool! Our little property, my husband is included in this endeavor, will be the future home to the Palisade Posh Studio which I will eventually expand to include smaller studios which together with the Airbnb will be marketed part of the year as an artist/ writer retreat.
Some might say I’m a dreamer but, I consider myself a ‘visionary’. All this is inspired by my desire to live a more balanced and joyful life. Currently I’m a happily married mother of two adult daughters who are both still at home, I work three jobs and squeeze in my art practice whenever and wherever I can. I have an insatiable compulsion to create things which has spilled over to growing things, cooking and entertaining all of which bring me great joy. Nature also seems to ground me and after living 33 years of my adult life in big cities, first in Chicago, then Columbus Ohio and currently Denver, I’m ready to trade in urban living for the quieter (although I hear peacocks and chickens can be quite noisy), slower pace of life centered on living. So who am I? I am a woman in transition, exploring and experiencing different things that bring me joy, soulful peace and balance in my live. I will share this adventure with you through Palisade Posh Living with the hope that perhaps I can inspire you to embrace life and live fearlessly the life you seek!
